iOs7

Hi guys!
Just a quick post about iOs7, so far I like it, no real glitch with the installation except on my iPad gen 3.
The problem was that after the upgrade I wasn’t able to use iMessage or Facetime anymore, I tried clearing the users setting etc. Finally I had to restore the entire thing, wasn’t too painful with the iCloud backup, and was sure I would have to reinstall all the apps one by one. It worked surprisingly well.

Now I’m just wondering if anybody tried on an iPhone 4?

Foursquare App Getting a Face-Lift

Being a big user of this application I will check, but it look like foursquare is really working on monetizing, which isn’t bad in itself, I rather much prefer that to stupid banner adds.

New toy

Just got an android phone just for the fun of it, I got a cheap Samsung Galaxy 550.

I mainly use my Ipad and will still do so, but I thought it could be interesting to see what is on the other side after all theses years of using apple’s product.

So far I am impressed with what this little 98$ phone gives. Android itself is o.k. but it is no ios. I think it is easier to work with an iPhone/iPad, you can still get a lot done if not more with Android, but you will need to be a geek to do so.

Will keep you updated on how is life with this.

Bye bye WebOS ?

It’s sad, Palm allays been an innovator, but this time I guess it was too late in the game to have significance. Will be hard to be special when your hardware run the same os than 15 others models.

Article from wired:

Rumor: Palm May Ditch WebOS for Android
An anonymously-sourced, unconfirmed memo partially quoted on Slashdot purports to show that Palm is ready to ditch the failing WebOS – which powers its Pre smartphone – and instead become yet another Android handset maker. The full memo was promised to be posted on Wikileaks at midnight Eastern last night. It is still not there.

Wozniak’s love the Nexus

Et tu, Brute?

On Gizmodo: Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak’s Favorite Gadget? The Google Phone [Apple]

Yes, you read that right. Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder and Gizmodo guest contributor extraordinaire, has confessed that his favorite gadget is Google’s Nexus One. Oh Woz, my darling, you just broke my iPhone-powered heart.

We know that Woz picked up an iPhone right when it first came out and it’s
perfectly OK that he picked up a Nexus One right on its release day, too. But proclaiming the Google device as his favorite gadget? Ouch.

I do wonder what his reasons are for that proclamation when he also explained that an iPhone is still his main cellphone.

Another gadget that will be thedered to a mobile phone tower

And another monthly bill for you!

Do we really need a super sized iPhone? Not me!

On gizmodo: Orange Chief Confirms Apple Tablet With Built-In Webcam [Blockquote]
“Oui.” That’s what Stéphane Richard—Orange’s Chief Executive Officer Delegate—answered to French journalist Jean Pierre Elkabbach on radio Europe 1, when asked about the imminent launch of the Apple tablet. He talked about a built-in web cam too:

Jean Pierre Elkabbach: According to Le Point, your partner Apple will launch a Tablet…

Stéphane Richard:

Yes.

Jean Pierre Elkabbach: …with a webcam…

Stéphane Richard: Yes.

Jean Pierre Elkabbach: …would Orange users benefit from this?

Stéphane Richard: Sure! They are going to benefit from the web cam, they are going to be able to, in effect, transmit images in real time. We are going to modernize, in essence, the video phone that we knew a few years ago… the size of the resolution, and the quality of the resolution will be better, and it will be available to all in France.
